O, Come Let Us Adore Him
Author:John Francis Wade c.1710-1786 v.1
Michael Gaydosh vv.2-5
Composer: John Francis Wade c.1710-1786 v.1
This hymn is a good adaptation of the famous Christmas Carol. Rather than focusing on the incarnation for the entire hymn. Mr. Gaydosh has invited us to adore our Lord at several events in His earthly life and one yet to come. Each stanza brings a scene of comfort to the believing heart.
Since the tune is so familiar, I thought it best to make a new arrangement of it. However, it is somewhat more complicated than the Christmas Carol "Adeste Fideles." One may opt to use the arrangement found in any hymnal.
I was especially moved by the final stanza. The whole time I was working on the arrangement, the words of the final stanza were going through my mind.

Come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
Come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem ;
Come and behold Him born the King of angels;
Chorus
Women- O come, let us adore Him,
Men- O come, let us adore Him,
All- O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
Come, all ye weary, wounded and discouraged,
Come ye, O come ye to Galilee ;
Come and behold Him walk upon the water;
Come, all ye mournful, broken and defeated,
Come ye, O come ye to Gethsemane ;
Come and behold Him, pleading in the garden;
Come, all ye sinful, guilty and afflicted,
Come ye, O come ye to Calvary ;
Come and behold Him, dying as the Savior;
Come, ye, beloved, hopeful and forgiven,
Come ye, O come ye to Glory now;
Come and behold Him, reigning, and returning;
