God Sees Us
You are
the God who sees me. Genesis 16.13
Do you experience times when you cannot “see”
God? Have you confessed with Job, “If I go to
the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I
do not find him. When he is at work in the north,
I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch
no glimpse of him.” (23.8, 9). Take heart! As
enjoyable and blessed as it is to see Him, it is more
important that He sees you! As Job went on to say,
even though he could not see God, “He knows
the way that I take.” He sees me! Our blindness
does not blind God. As wandering sheep, it is more
important that the Shepherd see us than that we see
Him. As lost children, our safety lies in the Father
seeing us, not us Him. The time is coming when we
shall see Him. Job’s blindness to God’s
presence did not rob him of the boast, “in my
flesh, I shall see God.” John promised that,
“we shall Him as He is.” The time is coming
when every obstacle to our view of the beauty of the
Lord shall be removed, when all the shadows of this
present life shall melt away in the brilliance of
His presence. Look for that day, and “set your
hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus
Christ is revealed.” (1 Peter 1.13) Until then,
we may feel we do not see Him, but we can rest assured,
He sees us.
