It is God, Not Doctrine, that Saves

We are not saved because we believe in total depravity; we are saved because Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. We are not saved because we believe in sovereign grace; we are saved because the sovereign God has been gracious to us. We are not saved because we believe in effective, limited atonement; we are saved because the Lord Jesus Christ did not fail in His work of redemption. We are not saved because we believe in irresistible grace; we are saved because God, the Holy Spirit, moved upon us with Divine, unstoppable power when He called us to Christ. We shall not be saved because we believe in the perseverance of the saints; we shall be saved because He who began His good work in us will continue it until the Day of Christ! It’s all Him.
